I started decorating my house for Halloween this weekend. I've always been the neighbor that has all their decorations out at least a month before the next holiday but with age, not so much. Even this weekend, what use to be a one day job has taken two and I'm still not done. Part of it could be blamed on the rain. I don't like decorating the outside in the rain, but for the most part, I just don't have the 'uhmf' that it takes to do it in one day or even two. But I will admit, I took more time over the placement of items. For example, I add new 'stuff' to the mantle:
Some of the items are usually in other places around the house but because they are in other places around the house, no one ever notices them But being the
And for Sonya Ann, my skeleton trying to get out of my house:
Maybe tomorrow when the rain stops, I'll finish up the outside. Maybe, just maybe, I'll change the header to my blog..........
Oh and how appropriate for this post, it's my 13th one!
Girl, you DO go all out! I haven't decorated anything in years. I lack the spirit and I'm just too lazy.
ReplyDeleteWell Cora, I've earned the name of Halloween House in the neighborhood and I have several kids who come to the house trick or treating just to see the decoration up close. Last year, didn't get it all out and those same kids told me it wasn't the same. This year I'm back mainly because I don't want my house egged ;o)
DeleteNot having halloween here, it's fun watching blog-friends celebrate and decorate in the US.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Bonnie, your 13th post on the new blog! May there be many many more.
Rain! what's that......we've had nil since May, not a drop.
Have a great week Bonnie.
Rose, I wish I could send you some of our rain. 3 inches in 24 hours is too much for this area and flash floods are all around.
DeleteI know many countries don't celebrate Halloween but it is one of my favorite holidays. Love seeing the kids dressed up in their costumes!
I do decorate my mantle and the entryway a bit, but you're a way more festive momma! And, yes, kitty does look a bit *ahem* familiar with Mr. Scarecrow's leg! ;D
ReplyDeleteOh Wambat you get the cat! And by the way, he's still there, no one wants to move him from his pleasure ;o)
DeleteHe does look like he wants out. Or wants a sandwich.
ReplyDeleteAnd I like your son's thinking!
Best part of the skeleton Sonya, is I don't have to worry about him flying off the window during a storm ;o)
DeleteWow! You go all out for decor for Halloween!!! We won't do much... But we will be giving out candy or bags of poppable corn. Haven't decided yet.
ReplyDeleteI haven't even thought what candy I'm going to hand out this year yet! One step at a time, one step at a time ;o)
DeleteI love halloween although we dont celebrate it in a big way. I try to decorate a little for the kids.
