Sometimes, the Experts Get it Wrong

Every 13-20 years the dreaded cicadas come out of the ground to drive the world crazy with their mating call. Some say it's not that bad BUT when you get a ton of those critters singing at the same time, it can get so embedded in your brain, you hear nothing but their song when you go outside. This year was suppose to be the year of the cicadas in my area, but the 'experts' said for some reason they weren't going to be in Kentucky.  I have proof that the experts were wrong:
 Can you seem them?
  It's their exoskeleton
They molt where ever and when ever the time happens
On the bright side, there wasn't the usual tons of them around the tree this time. The experts are saying they won't be here until 2021. We'll see, we'll see........

    1. That's what I said when I found them then was fascinated by them when I realized it was just the exoskeleton and the bug was long gone :o)

  2. Den HATES HATES HATES them. I never seem to hear them. But I'm slowly losing my hearing or it could just be from years of listening to kids fight that I have learned to tone certain sounds out.

    1. Rose, that is what it was like several years back. This year not so much. Guess it's because some of the critters didn't get the memo that they weren't suppose to emerge this year ;o)

  6. This has nothing to do with anything - but I keep putting your URL in my feedly and it still doesn't show up. I have to manually come over here and I'm damn forgetful! :-)

And you know how I feel about these damn cicadas. I hate the noise I hate them dying all over my patio, I just hate them and wish they'd go away and NEVER come back.
