Every 13-20 years the dreaded cicadas come out of the ground to drive the world crazy with their mating call. Some say it's not that bad BUT when you get a ton of those critters singing at the same time, it can get so embedded in your brain, you hear nothing but their song when you go outside. This year was suppose to be the year of the cicadas in my area, but the 'experts' said for some reason they weren't going to be in Kentucky. I have proof that the experts were wrong:

It's their exoskeleton
They molt where ever and when ever the time happens

DeleteDen HATES HATES HATES them. I never seem to hear them. But I'm slowly losing my hearing or it could just be from years of listening to kids fight that I have learned to tone certain sounds out.

ReplyDeleteRose, that is what it was like several years back. This year not so much. Guess it's because some of the critters didn't get the memo that they weren't suppose to emerge this year ;o)
